GABRIELA SAYURI
Hi!
My name is Gabriela Sayuri da Cunha and I am 23 years old. I am a journalist, writer, and social media content creator with a passion for the entertainment industry. I live in Orlando and graduated from the University of Central Florida with a journalism print/digital degree and a minor in digital media.
I am a Brazilian native, book-addicted, entertainment and digital/social media lover, and passionate about the publishing industry.
I am a bilingual writer. For The Charge, I covered the beat of College of Sciences, writing stories about the UCF community. As an editor, I edited stories in the entertainment beat. I was also an editorial intern for Central Florida Lifestyle during Spring 2024, and own my blog-zine: Melodrama.
My Story
I came from Brazil and lived most of my life there. I moved to Florida in 2018, wanting to get a better education.
I always loved writing, since I was a kid, and when the time to choose a degree came, I wanted to do something related to writing. Journalism is where I found this. Writing stories about real people, looking for something to write, and making real-life experiences eternal by putting them on paper.
I started working as a freelance developmental editor for fiction books in Brazil, while also writing news for my entertainment blog.
My goal is to learn and become a better professional to show my passion for writing.
