Developmental Editor

Developmental editing is a phase in the book publishing process where editors work with authors to address “big picture” issues in their manuscripts, including structure, form, plot, and character. As your developmental editor, I will provide feedback on:

  • Structure

  • Character development

  • Plot

  • Pacing

  • General Feedback and tips on grammar, if I notice any recurring errors

I recommend hiring this service after you are done with the second round of edits.

"Gabi was super attentive throughout the entire reading, and she really helped me bring more authenticity to the parts involving the lives of immigrants in the U.S. Her experience added details that made a difference in the story, making my experience with the developmental editing very fruitful, without plot holes and with more depth to the characters!" - Nicole Oliveira

"Gabi’s critique in Os Fantasmas de Felipe was essential in making the story even better, with more complex and engaging characters. Even through the subtlest notes, I was able to enrich the work further. Gabi’s attention to detail was important for me to finish a concise and coherent book." - Amanda Abdias
